Tamizdat, a small arts organization on the Lower East Side, is seeking a part time bookkeeper, 8-16 hours a week.
We have two related entities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and an LLC.
We need someone to handle:
Payroll through BoA online system
Workman`s Comp, Disability, and Unemployment Insurance compliance
Periodic Federal, State, and City reports (but not annual tax filings... we have an accountant for that)
Logging receivables and payables in Quickbooks
Helping us move to a Quickbooks based invoicing and check cutting system
Documentation and withholdings for foreign performers
We can offer a very informal and fun work environment, and we can be very flexible in regards to schedule.
We can`t offer a lot of money... $17 / hour, on payroll, is as high as we can go.
We are looking for someone who has enough experience to handle the duties listed above, can work independently, can anticipate and avoid a problem before it happens, can research and solve idiosyncratic problems, is proactive and can keep us in compliance and ahead of the game.
